Ranked as one of the fastest 10k races in the UK, Telford welcomed twelve hundred PB aspiring athletes to a bleak and blustery morning alongside some of the best runners our isles have to offer including 3 LPS athletes who are enjoying breaking the mold to set new levels, seemingly as each races passes.
Tony O’Brien (32:17) was the first club member home to take 2nd in the V45 category (beaten only by the fastest V45 road 10k time this year!) and becomes the first new addition into the clubs top50 10k times since 2001 even adding a place in the national V45 top 10 for 2019.
The race also hosted the Northern Athletics Team which included Kirsty Longley amongst its members who once again moved her PB marker finishing 7th overall, first placed V40, with a time of 33:35 to extend her dominance over the clubs record books.
The final member of the trio, Lisa Gawthorne, continued her impressive 2019 form to take home V35 8th place with a personal best time of 38:40.
