Mike Beisty continues to turn out excellent age graded performances down under in Australia, Mike who is only two months off his 60th birthday ran 18.23 in the Newcastle parkrun on 27th October. Mike finished 4th in the race an outstanding performance for an almost V/60.
Mike’s dad Ken who was a long time member of Pembroke before he emigrated to Australia was a regular sight at many of the events in the Newcastle area and after his death last year the local council erected a memorial to Ken at the halfway point where Ken would stand and encourage on the runners.
