LPS had no fewer than eight athletes at this year’s championships, representing Merseyside and Lancashire.
In the U/15 age group there were good 3rd place performances from Alice Prescot who jumped 4.83 in the A string Long Jump and Sadie McNulty 4.49, who was competing with older athletes.
Joe Houghton just missed out on a 3rd place finish with his 2.10.42. Running for Lancashire, Lauren Lewis ran a determined race to finish 2nd in the 100m wih a 13.16 clocking.
The U/17 high jump was dominated by Kai Finch’s 1.90 and Owen Smith competing against older athletes gained some good experience with his 1.60 jump for 4th place in the B event.
The U/17 girls Hammer saw Laura Fairclough throw 35.57 for 6th place in a very classy competition. Alex Bunclark gained some valuable experience in her 300 metre race in a time of 47.30.
