What an amazing two weeks it has been for Lisa Gawthorne. Two weeks she ran for England in the masters team in the Chester 10K running a solid 38.51. Lisa said that the course was quite challenging and hilly in parts but it was another special experience being part of the team for the third time.
It was good preparation for the the European Duathlon Champs in Italy the following weekend. The race was extra special for LPS as Kirsty Longley won the female race too in a time of 35.33.
In the same weekend Ross Harrison, Se Loughlin and Sarah Yates all represented Lancashire in the Inter Counties cross country championships at Loughborough – all performing well on a very muddy course.
Sarah made trip again the following week to Worksop with Suzie Owens and Isaac Dickinson as they allreprsented Lancashire Schools in national schools cross country event.

The weekend wouldn’t be the same without Tom Harkin competing and winning his age category race.
Well done to him in the Abbey Village event.
The main event of the weekend though was Lisa Gawthorne who won European Gold in Italy in the masters duathlon. Thuis is a remarkable achievement and one that Lisa and the ckub should be proud of. It was pleasing to see that her win featured in the Liverpool Echo. ‘Gone are the days when people think veganism is weak’ says gold medal athlete – Liverpool Echo
