Elliot Jones who is continuing his studies at Monash(Melbourne) University took part in the University National Championships held at Griffith University on the picturesque Gold Coast. He put together an astonishing series of 100m sprints 10.86 (Qualifier), 10.71 (Semi-Final) and 10.54 (Final). The latter earned him a brilliant bronze medal although the 10.54 time, we hear, was marginally wind-assisted. To add to his joy he was part of the Monash quartet that took silver in the 4 x 100m relay. Coaches Ray Twentyman and Trish Farrell are naturally delighted with yet another outstanding product of their quality training squad.
