Four LPS runners made the short journey across the river to compete in the Birkenhead park 5 mile race. On what is traditionally a fast course, Kirsty Longley demolished the course record when she won the women’s race in a time of 27.46. Her run was so impressive that she beat the second runner by well over 3 minutes. In doing so Kirsty’s time puts her in 4th place overall in the country and first in her over 40 category. The race itself also saw the highest number(128) of female competitors complete the course.
Lisa Gawthorne (O35) also set a new pb time of 31.34 in finishing in 3rd place, while Chris Pedder (O60) can be pleased with his performance (31.23) in finishing 46th in the men’s race as too can Andy Conway (O50) who finished 78th (34.06)
