The Liverpool waterfront provide the perfect backdrop for the British Triathlon Championships on Sunday 14th August and it was the two Dan’s that impressed in the sunny conditions.
Competing as part of the North West Triathlon Academy, LPS runner Dan Slater was very impressive in the Youths race as he came out of the water chasing the rear wheel of the eventual winner James Chantler- Mayne. Despite his over ambitious surges early in the run phase, Dan couldn’t bridge the gap and it was just 11 seconds that separated them at the finish, a brilliant result for the local boy and a great effort that shows his star is rising for sure!
Also making the top 10 was clubmate Dan Jones representing the North West Regional Academy who put a great series together and finished in a well earned 9th spot.
In the younger age group, Dan’s brother Adam Jones also finished 9th despite some confusion at a turn around point which saw him run twice as far as he should, denying him a place on the podium!.
