Michael Rimmer has been selected to compete in the 800 metres for GB in next month’s Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro. In doing so he has become the first athlete in the history of the club to be selected for three
Olympic Games which is a tremendous achievement. He had faced an anxious wait following his disappointing run in the British Championships earlier this month. However, his win in Spain (1:44.93)two weeks ago, his fastest time in 4 years, convinced the selectors he was worthy of a place.
Michael can now look forward with confidence to the challenge ahead.
