Tom was professor of sport science at Liverpool John Moores university, Tom had a vast knowledge of endurance related performance and would willing share this expertise with whoever sort his help or advice.
Tom worked with a number of top international endurance athletes on the sport science elements of their training. One of the athletes who Tom helped was Los Angeles Olympic marathon silver medalist John Tracey and John will be unavailing a statue of Tom during the 50th year celebrations. Liverpool John Moores university will be organising a trip to this years event and any athletes who are interested in attending should contact Neil Chester 07870567122.
