Liverpool Pembroke Sefton were at Lancaster for the final match in the Mid-Lancs League. Holidays plus the fact that final league positions contributed to a poorer than usual turn out. This did not deter the club`s High Jumpers though, as all four won their age group. Bill Williams(Senior) achieved 1.70m), Kai Finch(U15) 1.60m, Owen Southern(U13) 1.50m and for the girls Jade Murphy(U15) 1.55m.The horizontal jumpers saw Matthew Lowe(U17) leap to 10.96m for second in the Triple Jump and added 5.09m for fourth in the Long Jump. Grace Whitfield(U17) gathered points with a 4.10m Long Jump and 7.55m Triple.
Senior Lauren Cummins has settled back well into throwing after a long lay off and collected firsts in both the Shot Putt(8.77m) and Hammer(31.09m) plus runner up in the Discus with 24.39m. Lauren Lewis(U13) enjoyed herself in the Shot with 7.24m.
There were only two sprinters but both powered their way to glory. Ethan Prothero(U13) was well clear in his 100m with 12.7 while Lauren Lewis was equally emphatic in her event with 13.7. The remaining distance runners saw Harry Doran(Sen) dip under two minutes once again for 800m with 1.59.3 in second position. Jonathan Bride was sixth with 2.07.4. At U15 Joe Martin and Tom Jacques ran their 800m in 2.23.0 and 2.27.1 respectively. Charlotte Mawdsley(U17) was up against a very powerful Preston girl on this occasion and had to settle for second in her 1500m in 5.29.5. Fran Price(U13) showed some of her potential taking her heat of the 800m in 2.37.0. At U15 Joe Martin scored well with 2.23 and 2.27.1 in their two-lapper. Tom Dickinson(U13) posted 5.35 for his 1500m. Daniel Slater forsook his usual 1500m for the Senior 3000k and acquitted himself brilliantly with second spot in 9.30.2.
