Northern Athletics is currently facing the prospect of winding up in 2015 due to funding cuts from England Athletics. (see part of their statement on Northern athletics website below. )
“Northern Athletics (NA) was established in April 2007 when the governance of athletics in England was taken over by England Athletics (EA).
NA’s forerunner – North of England AA – had always been a financially viable body, funded mainly through an athlete registration scheme at £2.50 per athlete and income from unattached road race levy fees with both of these income streams taken by EA.”
In order to gauge feeling within the sport Northern Athletics have an online survey currently running which we would encourage members to take a few minutes to complete. Feedback and other data collected in this survey will be used in representations to England Athletics later this year.
If you value the service provided by Northern Athletics then make the effort to complete the survey
