Our friends from Oceania enjoyed performing in the wonderful atmosphere of the Olympic stadium on the opening day of the athletics events. Although the 5 sprinters were all eliminated in the preliminary heats of the 100m, they all managed to achieve their goal of achieving a PB.
Mihter Wendolin (Micronesia) was 7th in 13.67
Ruby Joy Gabriel (Palua) was 7th in 13.34
Rodman Teltull (Palau) was 5th in 11.06
Timi Garstang (Marshall islands) was 7th in 12.81
John Howard (Micronesia) was 5th in 11.05
I am sure the whole Olympic experience will serve them well in the future.
